Leadership
  • Anne Thomas Beesley: Chair of the Board of Directors. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology and has extensive experience in environmental management and leadership.
  • Marieke Heatwole: Treasurer and Vice Chair, with expertise as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and a background in metal sculpture and community advocacy.
  • Yngvil Vatn Guttu: Secretary and Co-Founder, known for her contributions to music, theater, and education. She has received recognitions such as the Rasmuson Individual Artist Award and being named a Jazz Hero.
  • Michael Dickerson: Director, an Alaskan composer and educator with interests in interdisciplinary arts projects.
Programs and Events

Northern Culture Exchange is involved in various cultural and musical events throughout Alaska. Notably, it has organized the Alaska Music Summit and supports the Alaska Electronic Orchestra and the Spenard Jazz Fest.
