NC Cyber Academy Middle School Staff Spotlight: Ms. Jane Lyerly With great admiration and appreciation, we shine this week’s Staff Spotlight on Ms. Jane Lyerly, a remarkable educator whose resilience and commitment to her students are nothing short of inspiring. Ms. Lyerly has faced personal health challenges, courageously battling cancer and managing its side effects. Despite these obstacles, she has remained steadfast in supporting and educating her students. Her perseverance is a testament to her strength, and her dedication to teaching has never wavered. Even while navigating her journey, Ms. Lyerly has consistently prioritized the needs of her students and their families. She builds meaningful, lasting relationships and is always willing to lend a helping hand—offering tutoring between classes or extending her office hours to ensure every student feels supported. Her students’ performance speaks volumes: last year, they led the department in math achievement—a direct result of her hard work and high expectations. Beyond the classroom, Ms. Lyerly brings laughter, light, and positivity to every gathering. She is known not only for her sharp math skills but also for her infectious spirit and sense of humor. And if you’ve ever spent time around her, you’ve likely heard her say her favorite phrase—“I love my job!”—a reflection of the passion she brings to her work daily.
