Overview

Pontchartrain Christian Athletics for Homeschoolers (PCA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing athletic opportunities to Christian homeschool students. The organization is designed to support local Christian homeschool groups and their families in nurturing godly men and women through education and sports.

Purpose

The primary purpose of PCA is to offer a platform where Christian homeschool athletes can share their faith, talents, and gifts in a supportive environment. This allows athletes to grow not only in their physical skills but also spiritually. PCA includes various Christian homeschool groups in its programs, offering a sense of community and belonging for its participants.

Eligibility and Programs

PCA's programs are open to homeschool students as defined by the state of Louisiana. The organization follows eligibility guidelines established by the National Christian Homeschool Championships (NCHC). To be considered a homeschool student-athlete, a student's education must be parent-directed, with parents assuming roles such as setting graduation requirements and selecting educational materials. PCA offers a range of sports, including Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Flag Football, Soccer, Track & Field, and Volleyball, catering to students from 3rd to 12th grade, depending on participation levels and available resources.

Philosophy

The organization emphasizes not only athletic development but also spiritual growth, with a focus on creating opportunities for "spiritual victories" through sports participation. This philosophy guides the coaching approach, ensuring that the athletic experience is integrated with the broader Christian values of the organization.

Governance and Operations

PCA is led by a Board of Directors, which oversees the organizational aspects, including fees, fundraising, and sponsorship efforts. Volunteers play a crucial role in maintaining and expanding the organization's activities.

Community Involvement
