We are excited to welcome South Carolina-based band, Admiral Radio, to our intimate listening room next weekend! Admiral Radio is the creative partnership of Coty Hoover and Becca Smith. Named after their old wooden radio, this husband-and-wife team blends heartfelt harmonies, storytelling, and raw sincerity. Having met while waiting tables in South Carolina’s Lowcountry, their sound is straightforward yet powerful—rooted in tight vocal interplay and finely picked acoustic instruments. Inspired by the everyday, their songs explore life lessons, the quiet hustle of ordinary life, and the dogged optimism that drives it all. Admiral Radio is playing on Friday, June 6th at 7pm and tickets are $20. Come out for some incredible live music and a good time! (fb)

Let music heal your soul this Sunday with the first-ever concert featuring the Swannanoa Valley Community Chorus! The SVCC was born out of the need for people of Black Mountain, the Swannanoa Valley, and beyond to come together to make vocal music. After the twin tragedies of COVID and Hurricane Helene, it was clear to BMCA that the arts center could serve as a gathering place for music lovers to sing and create community. The chorus, composed of singers from all over WNC, is led by local musician and BMCA instructor Cary Fridley and accompanied by pianist and BMCA instructor Joel Ragan. This show will take place in our cozy theater on Sunday, June 1st at 2pm. Attendance to the concert is free, though ‘pay what you can’ donations are welcome. Doors open at 1:30 pm for general admission seating. We hope to see you here! (fb)
