When *Lisa arrived at Nashville Rescue Mission, she was in a dark and desperate place. “After I had lost everything and everyone, on my third rehab I came to Nashville Rescue Mission. I knew nothing other than I would be able to have food and shelter. So, I got on a bus and asked them to help me get to the Mission. I will never forget that feeling of emptiness and loneliness. But! God had different plans for this girl. The journey has just begun. Thanks to the Mission and the Life Recovery Program.” She came broken and unsure, but hope met her at the door. “I felt the most hopeless when I came to Nashville Rescue Mission. I had lost everything: my family, myself, and God. I still remember reading the front door that said Hope Lives Here, and I believed it. My life is different, as I am about to complete the life recovery program and start the next steps of my life. I came with nothing and when I leave, I will have restored everything I have lost. My hope comes from God!” Through the Life Recovery Program at Nashville Rescue Mission, *Lisa found healing, purpose, and a new path forward. “What is hope? To me, hope is a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen. Hope is what keeps us going when we have nothing else. It’s definitely a feeling that is given [to] us from God. Hope makes every situation bearable and keeps us moving forward.” Now, *Lisa is walking in hope and transformation. “I am the most hopeful right now in my life. As I am working on fixing my issues and becoming a woman of God. Restoration with my family and my life has begun. It feels like nothing I have ever felt before in my life by changing who I am by becoming a drug free, sober, independent woman that’s ready to live life on life’s terms. (Jeremiah 29:11).” “I am most hopeful to live a life worth living with purpose and direction. I look forward to being the mother that God wanted me to be and to have full restoration with my family. God has been with me every step of the way and he did not bring me this far to leave me.
