🌸 Mother’s Day Tea at The Open School 🌸 This month, we hosted a beautiful Mother’s Day Tea to celebrate and honor the amazing moms in our community. 💖 We started the day by painting canvas totes with heartfelt messages like “I love you, Mom!” and “You’re the best mom ever!” Each one was filled with love and creativity from our students. The entire community came together to create a peaceful and loving environment for the mothers who do so much for us every day—often without thanks. 💐 From setup to organizing, preparing and serving tea, the kids took charge and made it all happen! They offered a lovely assortment of teas and tasty snacks— some homemade and served with joy. 🍵✨ We also played fun games that brought out the laughter, love, and connection between moms and their children, reminding us just how deeply they know and cherish one another. 💞 It was a truly special day filled with gratitude, smiles, and togetherness. 🌮 What was for school lunch this week at Open School OC? Chicken tacos with all the fixings — sour cream, salsa, and a giant bowl of guacamole! 🥑🔥 Ever wonder how many avocados it takes to feed our hungry crew? 👉 About 14 or 15! Thankfully, they were a great price this week. Lunch prep is a full-on team effort here. From cooking the chicken and slicing limes to hand-prepping that guacamole and warming up tortillas — it all gets done with care and collaboration. We even plate everything up and bring it outside to serve the community. How many people made it happen? 💪 5 dedicated chefs-in-training and 1 staff came together to feed the school — and they did an amazing job!!!
