Grace is our little Canada goose who came to us a couple years ago. She was named Grace after a clumsy landing caused a leg fracture. We were able to get her veterinary care which resulted in a rod being placed in her leg. Every spring, she, like all mature female geese do, becomes broody. She gets restless and takes flight whenever birds of her kind fly over the farm but she always returns. I noticed that the beginnings of a nest had just appeared in front of our animal barn.Coincidentally Bellbrook preschool called this morning to see if we could help with 13 mallard eggs abandoned on the playground a couple days ago- what great timing!!The eggs were placed on Grace’s nest area with fresh straw and she immediately jumped up and began arranging her nest for her upcoming family as you can see in the video!Now keep your fingers crossed 🤞 that all goes well for Grace and her adopted family-to-be. #wildagainrescue #SpringIsInTheAir #SanctuaryLife (fb)
