Meet #UNCPGrad Harry Lamichhane! 🎓 🏠 Harry is from Kathmandu, Nepal. 🎓 He graduated with his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with a concentration in Cybersecurity. Following graduation, he plans to continue his research in cybersecurity and work as a Software Developer in the tech industry under OPT, with long-term goals of pursuing graduate studies. 💛 Highlight of his BraveNation experience: “Representing UNCP in Raleigh for University of North Carolina System University Day as a Chancellor’s Ambassador and meeting North Carolina senators was a defining moment; it made me proud to be a Brave.” 💬 Harry’s advice to future Braves: “Take every opportunity that challenges you, whether it’s research, leadership or a club. You’ll grow more than you expect.” 📚 On-campus involvement: Harry served as a Chancellor’s Ambassador, IT guy, and participated in the Cybersecurity Club, president of the ACM club, and worked as a research assistant for over 2 years. He also presented research at symposiums all over North Carolina. He is a proud recipient of the Chancellor Inc. Scholarship for two semesters. Harry also interned under the NSA - National Security Agency and Laboratory of Analytic Sciences (LAS) for two summers. ✨ What he’ll miss most about UNCP: “The tight-knit community, late nights working on projects in the library, and the incredible support from faculty and peers.” Congratulations, Harry! 🖤✨ (fb)

Meet #UNCPGrad Natalie Belcourt! 🎓 🏠 Natalie is from Fayetteville, NC. 🎓 She earned her degree in Special Education K–12. Following graduation, she plans to become a High School Self-Contained Life Skills EC Teacher at a Title I school. “I am committed to teaching at Title I schools because these are the schools that have a majority of students under the poverty line and need all the support they can get. Coming from a Title I area in Fayetteville, this is how I will give back to my community.” 💬 Natalie’s advice to future Braves: “One piece of advice I would give to a future or current Brave is to get involved on campus. We may be a smaller university, but we have over +100 organizations. There's always something out there for someone, you just have to do a little looking! ☺️” 📣 Natalie’s involvement at UNCP: During her time at UNCP, Natalie served as SGA Academic Affairs Chairwoman, SGA School of Education Senator, Secretary of the Student Chapter for the Council of Exceptional Children, and Secretary of the Black History Club. 🏅 Honors and scholarships: She was awarded the Hattie M. Strong Scholarship, the CEC Dr. Mockoviak Outstanding Undergraduate Student Scholarship, the NC Teaching Fellowship, was recognized as a Chancellor's Scholar, received the Delta Kappa Gamma (Gamma Gamma Chapter) Annual Scholarship, and was named SGA Senator of the Year for 2023–2024. 💭 What she’ll miss most: “I will miss my leadership roles the most. I gained many friends and abundant experience and knowledge from my leadership roles on campus. Since I want to be a principal one day, after working as a special education teacher for +20 years, these leadership roles have prepared me for what's to come!” Congratulations, Natalie! 🖤✨ (fb)
