Today, the Ferndale Volunteer Fire Company honors and remembers the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. On this Memorial Day, we pause to reflect on the true cost of freedom and express our deepest gratitude to those who gave their lives to protect it. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten. We also extend our thoughts to the families who bear the weight of their loss every day. Meet Capt Tyler! Tyler joined the Ferndale in 2009. He has been an officer for the past 9 years and was promoted to Captain in 2024. Tyler is qualified to staff and drive all of the apparatus at Ferndale VFC. He built a mentorship program to help integrate new members who join. Tyler staffs two nights a week. If he isn't staffing, you can often see him fixing things around the firehouse. When students or new EMTs need calls, he will offer to help staff additional hours on A349 to get them through the process. He is also willing to help seasoned EMTs refresh their skills to keep them sharp. Please join us in thanking Capt.
