Say hello to our 2025 Winterers' Gathering Featured Instructor: Paul Bierman! Professor Paul Bierman is a geoscientist, environmental historian, and writer at the University of Vermont. Both his research and teaching focus on the interaction of people and Earth’s dynamic surface. "When the Ice is Gone" (WW Norton, 2024), his book about the history and future of the Greenland Ice Sheet, is a New Yorker Best Book selection and was featured in the New York Times and on Minnesota Public Radio. We're thrilled to welcome him to Grand Marais this November, and to announce that he'll teach a writing course during his visit! Dr. Bierman's course will appear on our website this Friday, May 23, along with all our other fall event courses. Registration opens May 28 for North House members, and May 29 for all.
