HARRISON HOUSE
A historical home now cultural center focused on encouraging and promoting arts and culture unique to the Historic Westside of Las Vegas, Nevada. Harrison House is a 501 c3 dedicated to the preservation and sharing of African-American history in Las Vegas and the promotion of neighborhood improvement Harrison House is dedicated to the preservation and sharing of black history in Las Vegas, neighborhood improvement, and economic development. Our mission is to foster better relations between African Americans and the rest of the community through community service and interfaith dialogue. We offer tours to educate people about former military veterans and residents of Harrison House who include iconic entertainers Sammy Davis Jr., Harry Belafonte, and world heavyweight champion, Joe Louis who were forbidden to live on the strip even though they performed in Las Vegas during the segregation era. Harrison House is on the Las Vegas Historic Pioneer Trail and is a place for reconciliation, forgiveness, repentance, and atonement.
