We are a community-supported nonprofit dedicated to rescuing surplus crops for people facing food insecurity. Increasing fresh food access, reducing food waste, and supporting local farmers. Boston Area Gleaners is committed to supporting an equitable, just, and sustainable local food system. We fulfill our mission by building innovative partnerships with local organizations and businesses in order to bridge food distribution gaps, improve healthy food access, prevent on-farm food waste, and create new markets for locally grown produce. Our vision is to sustain a permanent agricultural supply chain that will improve the viability of local farms and the health of communities who have historically suffered from inequity in the food system.

🛠️ Thanks to funding through @massgrown and in-kind support from Lazaro Paving, we are in the process of making many updates and infrastructure improvements at Stonefield Farm. Projects have included paving a majority of the driveways (goodbye dust. ), laying new cement and raising the height of one of our greenhouses, and leveling the front loading dock for easier equipment maneuvering.
