Preserve Memory — Honor the Brave (Please consider sharing this post 🙏) It’s been one week since the opening of Forged in Fire, Etched in Memory — a powerful exhibit now on display at our Ukrainian American Archives & Museum of Detroit. We invite you to experience this unique collection of wartime and trench art, created by Ukraine’s defenders, artists, and diaspora. The exhibit will remain open through the end of July 2025. We are seeking historical materials related to the original Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Catholic Church formerly located on GRAYLING STREET in Hamtramck. To help preserve and share this important chapter of our community’s past, we invite the public to contribute any of the following: photographs (interior, exterior, parish events) from 1915-1970 and documents or paperwork (bulletins, wedding invitations, letters, registers, etc.). We will scan these and return them to you depending on your wishes. We are proud to partner with Dr. Krysta Ryzewski of Wayne State University's Department of Anthropology and Michigan Technological University in support of the Hamtramck Explorer project. (fb)
