Our goal is to make sure children can learn, develop, and thrive with the support of strong families, The Center for the Study of Social Policy (CSSP) is a national, non-profit organization that connects community action, public system reform, and policy change to create a fair and just society in which all chilcren and families thrive. We have offices in Washington, DC, New York, and Los Angeles, as well as partners in 30 states around the county. CSSP's mission is to achieve a racially, economically, and socially just society in which all children and families thrive. To do this, we translate ideas into action, promote public policies grounded in equity, support strong and inclusive communities, and advocate with and for all children marginalized by public policies and institutional practices.

When families lose Medicaid coverage, they lose more than insurance. They lose access to care, stability, and peace of mind. Work requirements force parents and caregivers to jump through bureaucratic hoops to access basic care, harming their health and placing new burdens on their time and well-being.

As young people prepare for adulthood, they need services that promote their mental health and well-being, rooted in respect for and affirmation of their specific racial, ethnic, and cultural background. These culturally responsive supports help youth gain a positive sense of themselves and their community and equip them with key tools to manage lifeβs challenges. Yet for many youth across the country, particularly youth of color, what services do exist in their communities are one-size-fits-all and are not designed to be culturally responsive.
