The catalyst for Shepherd's Heart Ministry's formation was the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina. Seeing the widespread impact, a Lutheran congregation was inspired to act. Pastor Ed Brashier, who has served as a pastor in The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS), played a pivotal role in the early stages of the ministry. He was deployed as a missionary to the Gulf Coast in 2006 to assist in disaster relief efforts.

Activities

Shepherd's Heart Ministry conducts volunteer training sessions led by experienced instructors. These training programs are designed to equip volunteers with the necessary skills for effective disaster response, whether they are novice or seasoned chainsaw operators.
