Clarification on Fast-41 and the Proposed Uranium Mining Project in the Black Hills: As a result of a uranium company press release issued yesterday, some area residents are drawing inaccurate conclusions about the status of a proposed radioactive uranium mining project in Fall River and Custer Counties. Regardless of an Executive Order and press release issued by the current Administration, the proposed Dewey-Burdock uranium mining project would need to get about 10 permits in order to begin a mining process. At this time, the required radioactive materials license expired in 2024 without meeting the licensing conditions or beginning construction.
