Through education, preserving Solomon Northup's legacy by "Keeping the Flame Burning” on the true story, Twelve Years a Slave. Solomon, an educated freeman was kidnapped and sold into slavery during the 1800’s. His story reveals the atrocities of slavery, his historic return to freedom and subsequent documented his experience in the book, Twelve Years a Slave. His story, labor and other slaves contributions were fundamental to the development of the economic infrastructure of the United States of America and omitted from our history books.
