Houndhaven rescues dogs from suffering, surrender and euthanasia by helping them get vet care. Houndhaven rescues dogs from suffering, surrender and euthanasia by helping them get needed veterinary care. We work with specialty vets in orthopedics, surgery, opthalmology, dermatology and cancer care to identify good pet owners who are faced with an expensive treatment or surgery that they cannot afford for their dog. The specialist agrees to provide a discount, and we pay up to half the cost, leaving the owner with a bill they can afford. Specialty care is expensive, but we believe every dog deserves it. They give us their best, and they deserve for us to give them the best care they can get.

Houndhaven | A safe haven for dogs of all kinds A NONPROFIT CANINE MEDICAL RESCUE In our 22 years of rescuing dogs from euthanasia at kill shelters we learned that rescue doesnt end when the dog is placed. Good owners often find themselves faced with extraordinary vet expenses due to no fault of their own. Houndhaven has always helped its adopted dogs get the care they needed and starting in 2023 we are now working with five specialty vets to ensure that other dogs get the care they need regardless of their owners inability to pay. We will rescue these dogs from suffering surrender andor euthanasia through the following program.
