The Difficult Dialogues National Resource Center (DDNRC) is a organization committed to advancing innovative dialogic practices in higher education. Promoting Pluralism and Academic Freedom on Campus In 2005, the Ford Foundation introduced the Difficult Dialogues grants initiative to support new and existing programs focused on, scholarship, teaching, and civil dialogue about difficult political, religious, racial, and cultural issues in undergraduate education in the United States(Philanthropy News Digest, 2005). In 2011, representatives from institutions that were grantees of this initiative founded the Difficult Dialogues National Resource Center, Incorporated, toprovide knowledge and skill building to individuals and institutions interested in facilitating difficult dialogues on their campuses.The DDNRCs current mission is to contribute to transformative change among higher education institutions and their partners by advancing innovative dialogic practices to address the multiple and persistent challenges to justice and equity.
