Jazz + history + artistry = Jazzistry. Jazzistry is an original word that captures a dynamic educational concept. The 6-piece professional band leads students through a lively interactive, multi-media experience that spans 400 years of history. Vincent York's Jazzistry is an educational program that uses live performance to teach children and adults the significance of jazz in American culture and history, in order to: • Expand how we view our society; • Develop a personal relationship with our history; • Demonstrate the beauty and rewards of our multicultural heritage; and, • Cultivate a new generations of jazz lovers... and players.
