Since 1892, The Union Mission Ministries has provided for the physical and spiritual needs of homeless men, women, and children in Southeastern Virginia. The Union Mission Ministries serves our homeless neighbors across South Hampton Roads. The Union Mission is Southeastern Virginia’s largest and most respected homeless shelter and recovery program. For 130 years, our Christian ministry has compassionately served men, women, and children without a home and with nowhere else to turn. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we are able to help our guests in need with safe emergency shelter, wholesome meals, clothing, wellness care, job- and life-skills training, relationship counseling, and caring Christian case management. Sharing the love of God and the good news of the gospel of Christ is the heart of our ministry. 1892 mission statement: To aid the poor and needy; to reform the erring; to help those that are out of the way; to feed the hungry; to shelter the homeless; to preach the Gospel; and to rescue the perishing.
