Kentucky Girls State is an annual program funded and run by the American Legion Auxiliary ALA designed for rising seniors in high school to learn about andbecome more involved in the democratic process. For a week each summer girls from all around Kentucky gather to debate bills elect state officials and participate in small city gatherings as well as large party conventionsall while making new friends and learning the importance of democracy.
