#BREAKING: Teen Girl Intercepted at Sierra Leone Border While Waiting For Illegal Transport, Trusting a Stranger’s Promise ⁠ ⁠ Monitors spotted a 15-year-old girl waiting alone for a motorcycle driver who would take her across the border illegally. She had no passport, no money—and no idea of the danger she was in.⁠ ⁠ The teen told our team she met a woman in her village who promised her a high-paying job in Qatar. The woman said she'd cover the girl's travel costs, including a passport, and she could repay her later. Following her instructions, the teen traveled to a border town where she was told someone would take her into Guinea through an unofficial route.⁠ ⁠ She didn’t speak the language of her destination. She had never left Sierra Leone before. She had no documents, no real job offer—just a vague promise from someone she barely knew.⁠ ⁠ Our monitors gently spoke with the girl and explained the warning signs of trafficking.
