THE EXERCISE OF THIS RIGHT REQUIRES A SYSTEM THAT GUARANTEES FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION, BELIEF AND ASSOCIATION, FREE AND COMPETITIVE ELECTIONS, RESPECT FOR THE INALIENABLE RIGHTS OF INDIVIDUALS AND MINORITIES, FREE COMMUNICATIONS MEDIA, AND THE RULE OF LAW."

National Endowment for Democracy Chairman Peter Roskam Addresses NEDs Legal Filing Today the National Endowment for Democracy NED filed a lawsuit in United States District Court against Executive Branch agencies and officials for unlawfully withholding its congressionally appropriated funding. Statement on NEDs Funding Disruption and Program Suspensions NED is currently unable to access its Congressionally appropriated funds which sustain nearly all of its grantmaking and operations.
