In 2019, I had the honor of working in London with the World Health Organization (WHO) to help draft the roadmap for the “Defeat Meningitis by 2030” campaign. Today, I was honored to speak in Paris at the first high-level meeting to defeat meningitis by 2030. In attendance were the most distinguished partners, health ministers, scientists, journalists and advocates from all over the world. The entire world is working together to reach this goal - it will save lives, save money, and personally, for me - I will fulfill the promise I made my Emily Stillman on that cold February morning 11 years 2 months and 23 days ago. Karly Stillman- thank you for being here with me (and for keeping me calm and grounded). It was important to be here and share Emily’s story and the story of Kim (Patti Wukovits). It was crucial to report our work through The Emily Stillman Foundation and our newly rebranded American Society for Meningitis Prevention.
