The Prologue Society - Home Great Books Great Authors Great Food Join Us. THE PROLOGUE SOCIETY is a book club and notforprofit organization in South Florida whose purpose is to encourage and foster interest in and understanding of the history and culture of all peoples and nations. Our motto is borrowed from Shakespeares phrase from The Tempest Whats past is prologue. The Society founded in 1992 hosts seven author events each season from October to April with occasional special events in September and May.
