HEARTLAND CHILD NUTRITION RECEIVES FUNDING FROM THE UNITED STATES DEPT OF AGRICULTURE (USDA) CHILD AND ADULT CARE FOOD PROGRAM (CACFP) TO PROVIDE REIMBURSEMENT FOR MEALS AND SNACKS SERVED TO CHILDREN ENROLLED IN LICENSES OR SELF-DECLARED CHILDCARE HOMES. THE PURPOSE IS TO RESPOND TO THE GROWING NATIONAL AWARENESS OF A CHILD'S NEED FOR GOOD NUTRITION, PROPER EATING AND HEALTH HABITS. CHILD CARE PROVIDERS ARE ABLE TO PROVIDE NUTRITIONAL MEALS AND SNACKS TO ENROLLED CHILDREN WITHOUT CHARGE IF ENROLLED WITH HEARTLAND.

Our Mission is to enhance the nutritional wellbeing of children by providing nutrition education professional support and disbursement of USDA funds to family child care providers for serving nutritious meals and snacks. Heartland Child Nutrition is a free program for ALL licensed and selfdeclared providers in North Dakota who base their child care business in a home atmosphere. The financial support as well as our friendly staff and education opportunities for both providers and children will enhance your childcare and please the families you serve.
