Gaithersburg Meals-On-Wheels, Inc.
GMOW is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization established in 1981 offer home delivery of low cost, nutritious meals to fragile and vulnerable adults who are unable to shop for or safely prepare their own meals due to a temporary or permanent disability. The service enables home-bound clients to remain in their homes with a level of personal independence. Our volunteer drivers are on the road from Monday through Friday and deliver prepared meals to over 80 clients every day. Clients receive two meals - one hot, and one cold – prepared in the professional kitchens at Asbury Methodist Village following nutritional guidelines. Besides a healthy meal, volunteers serve as an extra set of eyes looking out for the welfare of vulnerable adults who are often quite isolated.
