The Post home is nestled on the bank of the Missouri River northwest of the confluence of the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers. It is just a few miles down stream of the location where Lewis and Clark began their historic journey to explore the Northwest Territory. Meeting hall Pavillion Barn Post 444 was chartered in 1946 by 77 veterans returning home from World War II.
