Creating mobility and independence for people with disabilities. Serving communities in Portland, the Willamette Valley, and Southwestern Washington. Greater Portland Area Chapter of National AMBUCS (pdxAMBUCS) helps provide Amtryke therapeutic tricycles for riders who need assistance to ride. When a rider requests an Amtryke and is unable to cover the cost, AMBUCS places this request on our chapter's Wish List. We apply for grants, host fundraising drives and events, and rely on the generosity of donors and volunteers to get every child riding. Most of our recipients get to enjoy riding for the first time in their lives because of the kindness from people like you! We really appreciate your generous support and encourage you to continue your ride with us as we bring mobility and independence to our community. We assist in funding customized adaptive tricycles for children and adults when an offtheshelf bicycle or tricycle is not adequate. We are the Greater Portland Area Oregon chapter of the National AMBUCS organization.

We have raised over $3000 with our winter fundraiser. Besides our annual fundraiser, we rely on grant funding to buy as many tricycles as possible each year. Grant makers like to see broad community support and one way for them to see this is by increasing numbers of donors.

It’s a hard decision to make, but we need to take a pause on new tricycle applications. The last thing we want is for kids to sit on our wish list without funds to order their bikes. While we work on our fundraising pursuits, please reach out to us for information on other potential sources of tricycle funding or adapted recreation.
