The brutal murder of two Israeli Embassy staffers outiside of the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington D.C. is a heartbreaking reminder of the dangers the Jewish community continues to face. Maryland Hillel sends our deepest condolences and strength to their families as they grieve this horrific and senseless act of violence. We are committed to ensuring that our students feel supported, protected, and never alone. Even as we gather to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our graduates, our hearts are heavy. It pains us to know that Jewish students are stepping out into a world where antisemitism continues to fester with alarming boldness. And yet, even in the face of such darkness, we hold onto hope. We are deeply grateful to the University of Maryland administration and campus police for their unwavering partnership and commitment to our community during these difficult times. We pray that our graduates go forward with courage, purpose, and light to help heal, uplift, and transform the world. May the joy and unity of their milestone strengthen us all to stand against hate and build a future rooted in compassion, dignity, and peace. (fb)
