FishWise is pleased to see NOAA’s recent release of recommendations for the U.S. Seafood Import Monitoring Program (SIMP). Many of the themes raised by stakeholders in our Common Ground and Reimagining SIMP workshops, including the need for pre-entry product screening, are reflected in the plan. This shift will help enhance SIMP’s detection and deterrence efforts, contributing to more transparent and responsible seafood supply chains.
