Toms Mission, founded in 2011 by one woman who after 17 years of corporate employment found herself “homeless”. Prior to 2011 the threat of homelessness never occurred to her, she was married, owned a home, and had a great job and a strong support base. That was until she was let go from her management position, her husband passed away from cancer, shortly thereafter her mother and sister passed away as well. Had it not been for a strong friend base she would have very well been on the street or in a shelter. This woman’s name is Judi, she founded Toms Mission which has grown tremendously over the years and operates solely on in kind donations, volunteers and very little monetary donations.
