Senator Amy Klobuchar and Minnesota Department of Agriculture Commissioner Thom Petersen visited Howard Lake today for an agricultural issues forum, where MTGA Executive Director Ashley Kohls spoke on behalf of Minnesota’s turkey producers. She discussed the ongoing impact of aMPV, progress on vaccination efforts, and highlighted how growers are working to prevent and protect against HPAI. Ashley also emphasized the need for USDA protocols to reflect the turkey industry’s unique challenges and underscored the importance of continued global trade—especially with key partners Mexico and Canada.
