Today is the anniversary of Brown v. Board of Education, the landmark civil rights case that declared racial segregation in schools unconstitutional, overturning the “separate but equal” principle of Plessy v. Ferguson. 🔥 Our movement has come a long way, but there are still those who want to drag us back to the racial exclusion that Civil Rights Movement leaders dedicated their lives to combat. Though they may claim to uphold equality, meritocracy, and integration when they erase our histories from schools or repeal DEI, we see them for who they really are: neo-segregationists. As we fight the neo-segregationist agenda, we will continue to celebrate the efforts of Civil Rights leaders. We won’t go back. (fb)

🌐 The budget fight is far from over, and now our online safety is being sold out! House representatives just added language to the reconciliation bill that would ban all states from regulating artificial intelligence for TEN YEARS. This is big. Facial recognition systems like Clearview AI already collect our biometric data without consent. Gig workers are fired by algorithms with zero explanation. Without state protections, AI companies will have unprecedented power over our lives, jobs, and privacy for an entire decade. The same bill that cuts essential lifelines like SNAP/TANF, Medicaid and Medicare for millions of vulnerable families is now stripping away our collective right to digital protection. Color Of Change created the Black Tech Agenda to defend against deliberate attacks like this, which jeopardize our economic security and digital rights. We need your voice now! Click the link 🔗 to call your representatives and demand they VOTE “NO” on this dangerous power grab. The technology affecting our daily lives shouldn't operate without public oversight. Join us in fighting for a budget that protects people, not profits, and for our digital rights! ✊🏽 https://win.newmode.net/colorofchange/rejecttheharmfulcontinuingresolutionbillthatcutsfundingforblackcommunitiesandworkingfamilies/clone/clone #HandsOff #NoCutsToCare #ProtectMedicaid #SaveSNAP #BlackTechAgenda (fb)

Victoria Lee a tenant there used our OrganizeFor platform to mobilize thousands of members and amplify tenant demands to fix the plumbing honor leases and support tenants whod been illegally pushed out. Many families were given eviction notices on New Years Eve for no reason at all and given just 30 days to find a new home. One mother reported having to go to the corner store to use the bathroom as raw sewage backed up in her tub.
