Inspiring and enriching youth through music, we are OYO. Since its founding in 1975, the mission of Oakland Youth Orchestras (OYO) has been to inspire student musicians by providing an exceptional orchestral experience. OYO, an educational nonprofit, gives 350 elementary to high school student musicians in southeast Michigan, of all socioeconomic backgrounds and abilities, the chance to perform in an orchestra and discover and nurture their passions for music. Simultaneously working within a shared atmosphere of teamwork, students develop personal discipline and growth, leadership skills and confidence.
