Your spring and summer plans probably include spending more time outdoors. Normal activities like gardening, walking your dog, camping, fishing, or hiking can increase your risk of encountering a tick. Prompt removal of ticks can greatly reduce your risk of tickborne illness. Unfortunately, tickborne illnesses are on the rise in the Mountain State, according to the West Virginia Bureau for Public Health.
