Avalon Shores Civic Association | Avalon Shores is a water-privileged community located on the Shady Side peninsula on the West River and the western shore of Chesapeake Bay. Welcome to the Avalon Shores Civic Associations ASCA community website. Avalon Shores was established in 1932 as a summer vacation community of small cottages owned primarily by residents of the greater Baltimore and Washington areas. Since then the community has grown to become a vibrant neighborhood of approximately 580 homes most of whom are yearround residents. Avalon Shores is a Maryland Special Community Benefit District SCBD therefore we do not have a homeowners association HOA.
