The Southern Gerontological Society (SGS) is an inclusive membership association of diverse individuals and organization who share an interest in gerontology. SGS mission is to provide a membership organization for people who are interested in education, research, service delivery, and other areas in the field of gerontology. Through this membership organization, SGS will promote communication about best practices and applied research beneficial to enhancing the lives of older adults and their caregivers. SGS will also engage in educational outreach for older adults and for those who work with and on the behalf of older adults. SGS, through its membership, will also work to develop sound strategies to move forward the implementation of meaningful public policy in aging within the southern region and the nation.
