The Good Samaritan at the Baker Estate in South Dallas The Good Samaritan Hospital Dallas 140th City Landmark South Dallas Good Samaritan Hospital began operation in 1920. The small communitycentered hospital owned and operated by German immigrant Martha Schultze opened from within her Prairie Schoolstyle home that was built in 1910. The hospital functioned primarily as a birthing clinic. Many of the expecting mothers were unwed and their condition was kept secret.
