Chicago just became home to a monumental work of art. A breathtaking 245-foot mural titled “Stand Tall” by renowned artist @mr.super_a , created in celebration of World Environment Day, this 24-story mural is a powerful symbol of hope and a call to action for ecosystem restoration and environmental justice across the globe. Stretching across the iconic PRU building, “Stand Tall” is part of the global #EcosystemRestorationMurals initiative we created in collaboration with @unep and @fao that aims to ignite conversation and mobilize action in support of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration, a global effort to halt, prevent, and reverse the degradation of our nature. This stunning piece serves as a vibrant reminder that we have the power to reshape the future of our planet and our communities - by restoring nature and beating pollution. The mural also pays tribute to Chicago’s pioneering role in the environmental justice movement, honouring the legacy of Hazel Johnson, widely recognized as the “mother of environmental justice”. Her tireless advocacy continues to inspire generations in the fight for a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment for all.
