Breaking the cycle When a child is born into an environment of trauma and systemic oppression her brain is more focused on survival than play growth and development. This can perpetuate generational patterns of poverty substance use homelessness abuse and eventually even incarceration. At The Beacon we dont give women a second chance we give them the first chance they never had.

Why 26 for Her Matters At The Beacon, we don’t just provide shelter — we create a space where women can heal, rediscover their worth, and build new futures. It costs $26 a day to provide trauma-informed care, case management, and supportive programs that help women take the next step forward. We’re inviting 2,007 people to give $26/month — enough to fully fund one month of care for all 66 women across both The Beacon and The Beacon Village.
