WAM serves as a watchdog, alerting agencies and elected officials to potential violations of laws and regulations designed to protect streams, wildlife habitats and species and as a portal for citizen participation. WAM engages in advocacy when appropriate through testifying at public meetings, commenting on policy documents, and supporting stakeholder and media outreach.
