VERDI LUMBER COMPANY SAWMILL WESTERN HOTEL IN VERDI TRUCKEE ENGINE 19 VERDI BOX SASH FACTORY MORTENSENS GARAGE FIRST VERDI SCHOOL BUS The Verdi History Preservation Society Inc. is made up of local residents who are passionate about preserving and sharing the unique and pivotal history of Verdi while showcasing Verdis many historical contributions to both adjacent and remote area communities. In 2002 with the support of the Verdi Community Library the Verdi History Preservation Society VHPS began collecting cataloging and organizing a treasure trove of artifacts photographs and written histories that speak to the richness of Verdi and its important role in local commerce and the development and expansion of the Truckee Meadows and other local communities in the area. We now have over 85 books that contain a rich assortment of historical photos as well as stories of some of the earliest Verdi families.
