Gamma Phi Delta Sorority Inc. was founded on February 28, 1943 at Lewis Business College( Lewis College of Business ) Detroit, Michigan by Elizabeth A. Gardner(Founder), and Co- Founder Violet T. Lewis. UNITING BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONAL WOMEN COMMITTED TO PROVIDING SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY, FOSTERING THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE EDUCATIONAL AND VOCATIONAL STATUS OF YOUNG PEOPLE, WITH A SPECIAL EMPHASIS ON UNDERPRIVILEGED YOUTH. ASSISTING UNDERPRIVILEGED YOUTH THROUGH BROADENING THEIR EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES BY ENCOURAGEMENT, DISSEMINATION OF INFORMATION AND FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE, AND PROMOTIMG THE BENEFICIAL USE OF ACQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING TO THE BEST INTEREST OF THE COMMUNITY. MAKING GRANTS TO ORGANIZATIONS THAT QUALIFY AS EXEMPT ORGANIZATIONS UNDER SECTION 501(C)(3) OF THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE.

GAMMA PHIDELTA SORORITY INCORPORATED Gamma Phi Delta Sorority Incorporated was founded in February 1943 by the late Elizabeth Garnerteacher and the late Violet T. Lewis owner of Lewis Business College Detroit Michigan. The founders along with the other eleven members are known as the Sororitys 13 Original Pearls. Each of the teachers pledged to organize a chapter of the Sorority in her home city.
