We’re willing to bet this was the cutest meeting these Members of Congress have had on their calendar in a while. But it was also one of the most important. Your willingness to listen, to hear their stories, their struggles, and their hopes for their babies, matters deeply. For many of these parents and caregivers, this was their first time on Capitol Hill. They spoke about child care they can’t afford, mental health support they can’t find, the Medicaid and SNAP coverage they depend on, and the dreams they hold for their children’s futures. And you listened. By showing up and hearing them out, you reminded families that their voices belong in these rooms. That their lived experience deserves a seat at the table.
