K9 FIRST RESPONDERS INC
K9 First Responders, Inc. (K9FR) is a Critical Incident Mental Health Support organization. Specially trained dog teams to assist psychological trauma victims. Specially trained trauma dog teams providing emotional support, aid and comfort to victims of disast Provide aid, comfort and support to the victims and survivors of crisis, tragedy or violence. K9FR uses specially trained K9 Teams to connect and engage people at, or immediately after, critical events to more quickly bridge them to additional mental health supports. Science and medicine have conclusively shown the impact dogs have on lowering blood pressure, stress, anxiety and the related negative stress hormones. This in-turn lowers communication barriers and increases the acceptance of support earlier than later. K9FR Teams are used at active scenes, de-mobilizations, defusings, and debriefings as well as support at vigils, wake and funerals.
