This past week, Amy Richter led a thought-provoking workshop at the Collegeville Institute on her latest project: A Walk in the Woods with Enoch. Exploring the ancient apocalyptic text 1 Enoch, Amy’s work reimagines how this visionary story can embolden our imaginations, rewild our worship, and inspire hope in the face of climate catastrophe. At the Collegeville Institute, we are honored to be a space where scholars, writers, and theologians can share and refine their ideas in a spirit of collaboration and mutual support. Amy’s work is a testament to how deep engagement with ancient texts can spark fresh insights for today’s world. This past Saturday, we held a Pop-Up Writing Workshop at The Threshold Center, St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, Birmingham-Vestavia Hills, AL. It was a day filled with creativity, connection, and inspiration! Writers from all backgrounds participated in co-writing sessions, one-on-one mentorship, and an incredible plenary lecture by poet Ashley M. Jones titled “The Importance of Writing in These Times.” A heartfelt thank you to Joi Miner, Miriam Calleja, Tina Mozelle Braziel, and Jermaine Thompson for their one-on-one coaching, and to Charlotte Donlon for leading the co-writing sessions. Your guidance made this event truly special! We’re also grateful to our amazing partners: The Threshold Center, Spiritual Direction for Writers, Church Street Coffee & Books, and everyone who attended! #PopUpWriters #WritingCommunity #CollegevilleInstitute #WritingWorkshop #exploringfaith #ignitingimagination #FaithisHealing #WritersCommunity #JustWrite #WritingLife (fb)
