he Washington Informer was founded by the late Dr. Calvin W. Rolark, Sr. and his wife, Wilhelmina J. Rolark, Esq., in 1964. Washington Informer Charities strives to improve 21st century literacy among children and adults in the DC metro area. It’s stand out program is the Washington Informer Citywide Spelling Bee in D.C. and the Prince Georg’s Spelling Bee.
