We are excited to announce a great opportunity for fishermen and seafood industry folks to learn more about climate impacts on fisheries and fishing businesses. We'll be hosting a four-part series in late August and September designed specifically for fishermen and fishing industry members that will focus on different aspects of climate and fisheries. Webinars will cover: Climate 101, Fisheries Science and Climate, Cooperative Research and Climate, and NOAA’s Climate, Ecosystem, and Fisheries Initiative. Webinars will last approximately one (1) hour with presentations for the first 30-40 minutes and 20-30 minutes for Q&A and discussion. We plan to record the presentation portion of these webinars and post them on our YouTube page. Even if you can’t make the webinars, please register to ensure you are notified of the recordings. Yesterday, NOAA announced the appointment of 21 new and returning members to the eight regional fishery management councils (Councils). Councils are the management bodies with jurisdiction over the species and waters within certain regions.
